Honey Bee Beginnings & Lip Balm Workshop 101

from 100.00

Join Bee Guardian Sha-Na Dahl for an introductory course on how to bring bees into your life, a tour of the Farm and Apiary, as well as her process of making her very own harvested beeswax lip balm!

TBD  location and hours

  • In this workshop we will first focus on holistic beekeeping methods, and unconventional practices when caring for your hives. We'll briefly go over biodynamics, what it is, and how I incorporate this understanding as a beekeeper. We will discuss equipment needed for starting, guidance for the first year, seasonal task highlights, over wintering tips, healing bee tea, bee forage, books and more!

  • We'll then take a tour of the farm and the apiary, break for lunch where we will provide some cheese//snacks with little bee honey comb and watch a movie!

The second half of the class I will walk you through the process of making your very own lip balm to take away with you! It will bee so fun!

As we journey through the life of a honeybee, we must remember that these insects and other pollinators are the supporters and nurturers of life on this earth.  By taking care of them, we are not only taking care of ourselves and our common future for generations to come, but also life on this planet as we know it- Gunther Hauk

And while on the subject of beeswax, I thought I would give you the option of taking home a beeswax reusable food wrap for a small additional fee! (Beeswax cloth is the sustainable and natural alternative to plastic wrap for food storage)  It will be included in your bag of goodies before you leave!

Just be sure to select the "beeswax food wrap" option at checkout!

thank you and let's bee together :)
